Bill Bourne and Eivør Pálsdóttir - Biography

Eivør Pálsdóttir "...unleashes a torrent of profound emotion when she opens her mouth. Live or on her eponymous North American CD debut, she offers up a voice so pure, powerful and strangely primordial that it's something of a shock..."
- Greg Quill - The Toronto Star

'eivør' - "Immaculately produced, heartfelt, and eclectic..."
- Richard Thornley - Penguin Eggs

"Bourne supplies guitar, a couple of tunes ('Only A Friend of Mine', 'Where Are The Angels?'), a co-lead vocal on Townes Van Zandt's 'If I Needed You', and most importantly, a shimmering and subtle backdrop for Eivør to let loose on."
- Tom Murray - See Magazine, Edmonton, Canada

Multiple Juno Award winner Bill Bourne has received international acclaim for his recordings and live performances. While the traditional image of a spiritual seeker does not usually conjure top hat, boots, shades and a Gibson flat-top, like any living tradition, it's open to change. A mainstay on the international roots scene, the decades on the road are reflected in Bill's music - powerful rhythms and soulful songs, steeped in World Beat, Folk, Flamenco, Funk, Blues and more...

Bill Bourne - "A one man tour de force" - "who sings, plays guitar and writes with deep soul".
- Mike Regenstreif / Tom Russell

Eivør Pálsdóttir (pronounced 'Ivor Paul's-daughter') is the Faroe Island's highest acclaimed singer, and indeed by many considered one of the best musical artists in the whole Nordic Region. On April 23, 2005, Eivør won 'Best Singer of the Year' at 'The Atlantic Music Event' in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands

On November 23rd, 2004, Eivør released her 3rd solo album, 'eivør', produced by Bill Bourne. On March 11, 2006, 'eivør' won "Best Folk Album of 2005" and "Best Vocalist of 2005" at The Danish Music Awrds.

Only 23 years of age, Eivør has traveled far around the world with her music, won two Icelandic Music Awards, released 6 albums, collaborated with artists such as the world famous Danish Radio Big Band, Canadian folk/roots singer Bill Bourne and sung lead vocals on numerous musical projects, including rock group Clickhaze, and Folk/Jazz group, Yggdrasil.

Eivør's trademarks are the intensity and honesty of her performances, as well as the astonishing variety of vocal styles - from resonant operatic to clean folk, from raw, open throat ethnic to husky jazz - all skillfully implemented in a sublimely personal musical expression. With her roots firmly planted in her native Faroese tradition, Eivør Pálsdóttir creates music that reaches out to enthrall listeners all over the world.

Bill's ability to write thoughtful and inspiring songs is legendary, and combined with Eivør's lilting and enigmatic voice, the result is magical and evocative, touching the very essence of our being and our connections with all humanity.

The interplay of their indomitable spirits leaves any audience totally and utterly spellbound.
